Finsihed project blues

1. set a timeline for when I'm getting feedback from the friend I gave the screenplay to and what our next step with it is. I think this will help elliminate the "is anything ever going to happen with this" feeling to some extent. After all, the project isn't over, this is just the first draft.

2. Get busy on other projects that need attention. The dog shoot went great on Monday. I have my drawing, I have my pictures, I'm getting closer to assembling everything I need for the site. 

3. Get started on my dad's new beer labels! My dad makes his own beer, and every year for his birthday I design a new beer label for him. I'll scan them so I can upload them here, but they're really fun -they are always drawings that I do of my dad, fit into some context - the first one looked like a Western movie poster, the second one was from the cover of the Beach Boy's album "Endless Summer" and I made all the band members into my dad. The idea I had for this new one is to do a drawing of my dad like a monk and call it "Father Lager." This is the first time I've based a drawing on a name, rather than the other way around, but I'm really excited about it. I'll do the drawing of my dad, put him in a monk robe and then do a stained glass window behind him... maybe have beer mugs depicted in the stained glass windows, or hops or something... The stained glass effect might be hard - I'll do this one in watercolor. I love art supplies and I love drawing. Getting my hands dirty and playing with color is one of my favorite things to do, specially when I am feeling burned out or just at a low point with the wriitng. Visual art is one of those areas that I don't put huge expectations of myself into, I just allow it to be a place where fun happens and where I can just enjoy the materials that I'm working with. My dad's birthday is coming up in October, so I'll have a deadline for myself on this one... 

Also went to hot yoga today, I really love it. It was really hard today, but I came away feeling like i had accomplished something... One thing the teacher said really rang true for me - she said that you should work really hard in yoga and really feel the pain and the possible frustrations and challenges so that you can let them pass through your body and then let go of them. You've already accomplished so much when you leave class you aren't looking for these problems and frustrations in the outside world. It's like you've already dealt with that and conquered it. I'm proud of myself that I went twice this week, and alone both times. I didn't need someone else to be there iwth me, I felt comfortable by myself.
